Cannot record sound because microphone mixer volume too low
Cause:
The microphone cannot record because the microphone volume setting is too low.
Solution:
Change the volume level of the microphone mixer.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs'.
3) Select 'Accessories'.
4) Select 'Multimedia'.
5) Select 'Sound Recorder'. (The 'Sound - Sound Recorder' dialog box appears.)

6) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Audio Properties'. (The 'Audio Properties' dialog box appears.)

7) Click and hold down the 'Recording' volume control slide bar.
8) Move the slide bar to the right to increase the volume.
9) Release the mouse button when the volume is at a desired level.
10) Click 'OK'.
